Privacy Policy

In short: Media Grabber does not require an account and does not collect your name, email, or contacts. Media you download is processed on your device and saved to your device gallery — we never upload or store your downloads on our servers. We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand anonymous, aggregated app usage so we can improve the app.

1. Who we are

Media Grabber ("the app", "we", "us") is an Android application that lets you download publicly available videos and images from social media platforms (such as TikTok) to your own device for personal, offline use. This policy explains what information the app handles and how.

2. Information we handle

a. Links you paste

When you paste a media link into the app, that link is sent to a third-party resolver service in order to retrieve a direct, downloadable media URL. The link is used only to perform the download you requested and is not stored by us.

b. Media you download

Downloaded files are fetched directly to your device and saved to your device's photo gallery / media library. These files stay on your device. We do not receive, upload, or keep copies of the media you download.

c. Usage & diagnostics (analytics)

We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated information that helps us improve the app, such as:

App events (for example: a download started or completed)
Device type, operating-system version, and app version
A non-identifying app-instance identifier generated by Firebase

This data is not used to identify you personally. It is processed by Google under Google's own privacy terms. See Firebase Privacy and the Google Privacy Policy.

d. Information we do NOT collect

No account, name, email address, or password (the app has no sign-in).
No contacts, no precise location, no microphone or camera capture.
We do not sell or rent any data to third parties.

3. Device permissions

Permission	Why the app needs it
Photos / Media / Storage	To save the media you choose to download into your device gallery.
Internet / Network access	To resolve links and download the media files you request.

You can revoke permissions at any time in your device's system settings; some features (such as saving downloads) will not work without them.

4. Third-party services

The app relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

Google Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage analytics.
Media resolver services — used to obtain the direct download URL for the public link you paste.

5. Data retention

We do not maintain our own database of users or downloads. Anonymous analytics data is retained by Google Firebase according to Google's data-retention settings and policies.

6. Children's privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Your choices

You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the app.
You can revoke storage/media permissions in system settings.
You are responsible for respecting the copyright and terms of service of the platforms whose content you download; download only content you are permitted to use.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and posting the revised policy at this URL.
